Taking place Aug. 7 at Hilton Hawaiian Village is nonprof- it’s Hui Maka‘ala’s 51st annual Scholarship Fund Luncheon & Fashion Show. The event will feature boutique sales, a si- lent auction, food, entertainment, door prizes and, of course, a chance to see trendy designs from Allison Izu Song, who’s headlining the event, as well as Majun Okinawa and SoHo Fashions.

Based in Hawai‘i, Allison Izu Song’s brand (Allison Izu) is all about female empowerment.
“We believe that fashion can be transformative with the right fit, and we focus on designing clothing that makes women look and feel good,” says Izu Song, who notes that the company recently opened a showroom in Mānoa Marketplace.
At the fashion show, attendees can also expect to see looks from A. IZU, an offshoot of Allison Izu.
“I was craving some one-of-a-kind pieces that would be in fun prints and colors, with edgier design features,” says Izu Song. “A lot of the new styles can be worn multiple ways and are made to mix and match with the Allison Izu collection.”
The Waikīkī gala will also showcase items from Majun Oki- nawa, which will feature its casual “kariyushi-style” fashion. Partially inspired by the aloha shirt, this design is bright and vibrant, and can be worn casually or as business attire, espe- cially during the hot summer months. Majun Okinawa has an array of selections for men, women and children.
