Nate Meddings has been promoted to project director at Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation. He will be responsible for overseeing risk and management of the rail system, and providing executive direction and leadership for the construction phases of the project. Meddings specializes in complex, pioneering project management and has held key positions in the delivery of Arizona’s first transit systems.
Ann Mahi has been hired as Hawai‘i State Teachers Association’s executive director. She will oversee HSTA’s staff of 44 employees on four islands, as well as the union’s annual $12 million operating budget. Mahi’s career includes extensive experience in teaching and administration, as well as decades of working as a union leader. In recent years, she has served at the legislature and on various community boards.
Cameron Nekota has been appointed to serve on the board of directors of James Campbell Co. LLC. Nekota is an executive vice president and division manager at First Hawaiian Bank, Hawai‘i’s largest financial institution, where he is responsible for overseeing the bank’s commercial real estate portfolio. He also currently serves as president of the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation.

Caroline Carl is Hawai‘i Energy’s new executive director. She joined Hawai‘i Energy in 2011 as the Hawai‘i County energy adviser, helping businesses save on electric bills through the adoption of energy- saving equipment. She also served as residential program manager and director of residential and transformational programs, before transitioning to deputy director in 2015.
Keoni Williams has been named the 2022 Patsy Takemoto Mink Legislative Fellow. A student at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law, Williams will spend the summer working in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. Rep. Kaiali‘i Kahele, who currently holds the seat once occupied by U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink, the namesake of the fellowship.
Rebecca Hodge has been appointed assistant principal for Student Life at Mid-Pacific Institute. In this role, Hodge will assist in developing and implementing the overall school program and managing the grades 6-12 faculty, student body and staff, ensuring that the school’s mission is in alignment with its programs, policies and practices. Hodge has 12 years of experience in the field of education.
