Nola Miyasaki is director designate of the City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Human Resources. Miyasaki previously served as director of the city’s Department of Customer Services and most recently, was chief development officer for Rehab Hospital of the Pacific Foundation. Miyasaki received her master’s in business administration from Syracuse University.
Bret Peavy was promoted to vice president of sales and business development for Pacxa, where he will oversee the department’s operations. One of Pacxa’s longest tenured employees, he holds comprehensive experience in technology sales geared toward the health care, financial and federal sectors. Peavy studied business at Northeast Louisiana University.
Erin Kirihara is executive vice president of Rider Levett Bucknall. Kirihara is responsible for management of the firm’s operations in the Hawai‘i region, where the firm provides professional construction consultancy services across O‘ahu, Hawai‘i Island and Maui. She oversees clients with construction projects in Hawai‘i and the U.S. mainland.
Wes Akamine was promoted to director of operations and project management for Ōlelo Community Media. Akamine is responsible for community engagement initiatives that include media training and mentoring, as well as equipment rental, media production and post-production services. He will also oversee a range of organizational initiatives including executive productions, internships and volunteer services.
Stephanie Kendrick, director of community engagement for Hawaiian Humane Society, has been named a 2022 Top Animal Defender by the Animal Legal Defense Fund in recognition of her efforts to improve Hawai‘i’s animal protection laws. Kendrick received special mention of the state legislative campaign she spearheaded, which resulted in the passage of three significant animal protection bills.
Chad Takesue, partner for Locations, has been installed as the 2022 president of the Honolulu Board of Realtors. Takesue will work with the board’s staff and volunteer leadership to develop its strategy and goals. He’s been a realtor with Locations for more than 15 years and has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles at the Hawai‘i Association of Realtors and the Honolulu Board of Realtors.
