ith March Mad- ness in full effect, Vegas continues
to be a sports lover’s destina- tion. Since the Sports Betting Capital of the World became a sports town itself, the draw for additional athletic events on the Ninth Island has in- creased. Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders and the UNLV Reb- els football teams, will host this year’s NFL Draft on April 28-30. This large event will be great practice for the city, which will host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024.
Football fans will have the option to make some unique purchases in Vegas. Raiders’ fans can buy a per- sonalized engraved brick for $850-$1,500, which will be installed at the front entrance of the stadium. Proceeds will benefit the Raiders Founda- tion. For more information, visit raidersfoundationbricks. com. If a hat or jersey is more your speed, check out the NFL Las Vegas store that recently opened at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.

For wrestling fans, there are plenty events on the agen- da as well. All Elite Wres- tling will be hosting multiple events this spring. On May 25 and 27, AEW’s “Dynamite Rampage” will take place at the Michelob Ultra Arena and on May 29, AEW’s “Double or Nothing” will be held at T-Mobile Arena. World Wrestling Entertainment is also bringing its “Money in the Bank” tour to Allegiant Stadium July 2. Additionally,
South Point Arena & Eques- trian Center will once again host the USA Open Wrestling Championships April 27-30.
Speaking of this gathering place along Las Vegas Boule- vard, did you know that this arena hosts events all year long? From million-dollar bingo and professional bowl- ing tournaments to archery and BMX competitions, there’s certainly an event for everyone. In addition to these unique competitions, South Point is known for its equestrian events, with horses on-site approximate- ly 42 weeks per year. Ninth Island Connection is excited to share more on this one-of- a-kind casino that’s not only a locals’ favorite, but also a travel destination on an up- coming episode!
With all of this sports ac- tion on the Ninth Island, can we expect to add a Major League Baseball team to the list of professional franchises in Vegas? Rumors have been circulating of the Oakland A’s making the move here and it seems we are getting closer to some confirmation on if and when this will hap- pen. While the team hasn’t officially decided to leave California, it has been scout- ing out potential sites for a stadium in the Vegas Valley and plans to make a decision this summer.
Catch Sebastian and Ninth Island Connection at 7 p.m. Wednesdays on K5 and 2 p.m. Sundays on KGMB.
