Darlena Chadwick is senior vice president and chief operating officer of The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu. She will serve as a member of the executive leadership team for Queen’s and as the senior executive overseeing the operations of QMC-West O‘ahu. A key aspect of Chadwick’s role will be to work in tandem with the Queen’s Native Hawaiian Health Program.
Clint HYamada is an associate for Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert. He practices in the fifirm’s business and commercial, land use, litigation, arbitration and mediation, and wills, trusts and estates practice groups. Hamada earned his law degree from University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law and received his bachelor’s in philosophy politics and law from University of Southern California.
Melanie Salvador has been appointed fifinance and risk management director for ‘Ōlelo Community Media. She is responsible for all accounting and finance activities. Salvador brings more than 35 years of experience with capital budgets, forecasting, audits, risk management, finance and human resources. Most recently, she served as financial director at IBEW Local Union 1260.
Kat Spencer has been named principal broker/ owner of Dower Realty Inc. She is the granddaughter of founders Frank and Betty Dower. Spencer’s professional career started in the Dower offiffice in 2004 as the fifirm’s offiffice manager. In 2013, she earned her salesperson license and went into property management. Then, in 2017, she became broker- in-charge with the company.
David Nguyen has accepted an offffer for appointment to active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. The JAG Corps operates as the legal arm of the U.S. military. Members of this elite group, who are also known as judge advocates, serve as attorneys on behalf of the U.S. Armed Forces. The JAG program is highly competitive, with an acceptance rate of only 4% of applicants.
Dana Gusman has been named director of external affffairs for Alexander & Baldwin. She is responsible for government and community relations functions, managing government affffairs, A&B’s charitable giving program and community outreach initiatives. Gusman is a Public Schools of Hawai‘i Foundation trustee and serves on the Kapi‘olani Health Foundation Young Leaders Board.

Dr. Steven Kim has been appointed general surgeon at Adventist Health Castle. Kim is board certifified with expertise in trauma and acute care surgery. In addition, he is trauma medical director and will be responsible for managing all aspects of trauma care, which includes establishing and executing policies and guidelines to optimize the care of injured patients.
Marissa Machida received the 40 Under 40 in Wealth Management Award from American Bankers Association. She is vice president and relationship manager at Bank of Hawai‘i. This award recognizes wealth management and fiduciary professionals who are committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities. Previously, she worked as deputy prosecuting attorney in Honolulu.
Roderick Peroffff is senior vice president and corporate banking team manager for Central Pacifific Bank. He has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry with extensive knowledge in banking, risk analysis, commercial lending, treasury, consumer credit and project management. Peroffff serves on the board of Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Pacifific Fleet Submarine Museum.
