    Athletes Take Part In Toy Drive
        People often think of Sin City as just a tourist destination; however, the Ninth Island has a huge local community that spreads aloha year-round, including the hol- idays.
ota’s Motiv8 Foundation and Vegas Golden Knights’ Deryk Engelland’s Engelland Vegas Born Hero Foundation to put on the newest Christmas attraction, Enchant. Located at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summer- lin, the event’s proceeds and donations will benefit The Shade Tree shelter, communities and schools.
    One local nonprofit, Opportunity Village, holds its third-largest fundraiser, the Great Las Vegas Santa Run, every year. This event was canceled in 2020, but returned to set the Guinness World Record for the most Santas in one place. The event begins at the Fremont Street Experience and ends in the lot across from Atomic Liquors, the oldest bar in Las Vegas.

We had the opportunity to earn our medals during the run this year and our dog, Carlos (and Ninth Island Connection mascot), made some new friends who just happen to be this year’s Santa Run grand marshals, the Chippendales.
