When I went to pay for the items, I realized that I didn’t have my wallet in my purse. I’d taken my younger grand- daughter for a stroller ride

Encouraging Neighbor Walks The Walk
  Dear Kathy,
The best part of these stories is hearing that the recipient is now “paying it forward” and the aloha continues. A popular trend now is paying for the tab of the car behind you at the drive-thru, and it is not only a generous gesture, but it also increases endor- phins, which are chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain. We can’t put a price on that.
Everyone in ‘Ewa sees Pete walking in the morn- ing and in the early evening hours every day.

RESPONSIBLE , RESPECTFUL , COMMUNITY-MINDED
 Dear Darah,
I’m happy to share a recent story about my good Samaritan. I was surprised and delighted by her generosity and kindness. I’m visiting my daughter’s family in Kailua, and last Thursday af- ter picking up my granddaugh- ter from a nature camp, she and I stopped into the 7-Eleven on Pali Highway to pick up windshield washer fluid. And, of course, we each selected a small sweet snack as well.
earlier that morning and that’s where I’ d left my wallet. I started to put the items back when a very sweet customer said not to worry about it, and she paid for our items!
and 5 miles in the evening — simply amazing and super inspirational.
I do not know who that lady was, but I know she drove away in a larger gray vehi- cle that I would describe as a Chevrolet Suburban.
I always share with Pete that he inspires me to en- joy walks and just keep on going! He truly is an inspi- ration and deserves to be spotlighted.
My sincere thanks to my good Samaritan and I will cer- tainly “pay it forward” when the opportunity comes.
Dear Kahea,
She was just so nice and I’m glad my older granddaughter was witness to her kindness, too.
