ffortless, romantic and slightly bohemian. Those are the words designer and founder Jane Hoskins uses to describe her brand, Tiare Hawai‘i. Established on the
North Shore in 2011, the company is known for nature- and travel-inspired beachwear. Its most recent collection, Paradigm for Fall (pictured), blends hues of earth tones with island charm.
“I moved to Hawai‘i as a teen and was always either in the ocean or traveling,” says Hoskins. “I also had a love for fashion, culture and art, and combined all of these things while bridging the gap in the market between beachwear and contemporary fashion. Our clothing is artisan small batches. We use traditional techniques to put our prints onto fabric, and our prints are inspired by the islands and nature.”
Using an ancient process, Tiare Hawai‘i’s items are handmade, which means every piece is one-of-a-kind. The brand’s full line of products includes women and children’s clothing, sarongs and lingerie. In the past, it has also col- laborated with fellow local brands like ALOHA Collection and Kahakai Kids.
Of Hoskins’ proudest accomplishments, the Hale‘iwa resident lists seeing her brand on display at Bloomingdale’s in Ala Moana Center as one of the best.
“(The) whole room had been dedicated to the brand,” she says. “I think the most exciting thing is seeing the dresses out in the world, whether it’s driving through Hale‘iwa
and seeing someone (on the) street in one of
