1911 with the purpose to help merchants in Chinatown and provide assistance to the im- migrant population. Today, its scope has grown. It is now a leading voice for Chinatown, as well as the Chinese commu- nity throughout the state.
The chamber has many events throughout the year that support that mission. Among them are the Choy Cheng, Chinese New Year Celebra- tion and Narcissus Festival, which was founded in 1949 to preserve and showcase Chi- nese art and culture.
