     Fans of horror have something in common with Chris Rock. The comedian approached Lionsgate with the idea for Spiral (the ninth film in the Saw franchise), which debuted in May. Joining Rock in the Spiral cast are Max Minghella and this actor, who’s known for a number of projects that
are more than just works of fiction.
Come March 2023 (hopefully), Willy Wonka’s formative years will hit the big screen. The prequel — titled Wonka — focuses on the candy man’s origins before he opened his sweets emporium. The 1971 original, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, starred Gene Wilder, but the forthcoming movie will feature this Little Women’s 2019 Laurie in the title role.
Emmy winner Debra Messing will showcase her singing voice in Netflix’s 13: The Musical. It’s based on the 2008-09 musical of the same name that served as the professional
debut for the likes of Elizabeth Gillies and this victorious actress who has got one powerful voice.
The super-charged franchise The Fast and the Furious fueled its first action-packed movie for audi- ences 20 years ago this week. Although Vin Diesel and Paul Walker won the parts for characters Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner, respectively, film director Rob Cohen initially had two other men, who previously worked together in a late-’80s/early-’90s comedy sitcom,
in mind for these roles. Who were they?
