We’ve had the pleasant surprise over the past week to be greeted by the tunes of local musicians. From solo artists performing at restau- rants like Favorite Bistro intheLINQPromenade, to bands jamming away at AREA15, the Vegas Valley is alive with the sound of music! One of our favorite bands, St1 Reggae, is also back on the music scene. We were lucky to catch the group at 18 Bin in the Arts District and are looking for- ward to seeing more perfor- mances in the near future. Bands with Hawai‘i ties are also joining together to bring back the music to the Ninth Island. The Lake Aloha Weekend at Lake Las Vegas, which is scheduled for May 22, will feature Ekolu, Shaggamon, Siaosi andTenelle(ticketsavail- able at eventbrite.com/e/ lake-aloha-weekend-on- the-n9ne-hoolaulea-tick- ets-150766196753). Maoli, along with Kennedy King, Lea Love and Lana Kei, will be performing at the Citrus Pool at the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino on May 30.
