       Join Lions For Day In The Park
  Hawai‘i Lions are cel- ebrating a successful year roaring back to full service post-COVID-19 pandem- ic with a picnic in the park event scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at Ala Moana Regional Park. Leeward O‘ahu residents are invited for a fun day of games for keiki, good food and live entertainment. There is no admission fee.
• Bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids. Lions col- lect, clean and donate these to developing countries.
CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator.
 • Bring canned goods in support of the Hawai‘i Food- bank. This fiscal year, Ha- wai‘i Lions held three major food drives in the state.
Currently, there are 55 Lions Clubs with more than 1,500 men and women mem- bers on all islands.
  • Join Lions and high school Leos for a beach cleanup at Ala Moana Park.

  Guests will learn about the five areas of service carried out by Lions, which include vision, hunger, environment, diabetes and childhood can- cer. Here are some activities attendees can participate in:
• Join in a walk around the park for diabetes health and awareness.
    • Have your child’s vision checked. Lions provide free vision and hearing screenings to local elementary schools across the state.
• Donate electronic games and prizes for Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children’s childhood can- cer patients.
“Lions serve. It’s what we do. While the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way we live and work, it has not changed who we are. Lions and Leos found ways to serve safely in our communities.”
• Learn how to be a donor to the Lions Eye Bank of Hawai‘i and Makana Foun- dation.
