He says he tailors the workshops to what the local people need. In Ukraine, he held two days of sessions, during which he taught about trauma, how it affects the brain and how it impacts children. He also discussed how to diagnose the effects of trauma and how to coun- sel for trauma.
“If you’re involved in an explosion, that’s an acute trauma. But it’s also chronic trauma if there is war in that country,” he explains.

Depending on the type of trauma, people may require different types of treatment. He shares this type of infor- mation with country leaders, policemen, teachers, parents and more. He’s driven, he says, with knowing that what he is doing is important work and that he’s able to help people in need.
