onprofit ClimbHI has reached near- ly 1,400 public high school students in the first two years of its Service
Excellence Certificate program for the Ha- wai‘i Department of Education Career and Technical Education Hospitality Pathway.
Organizations and businesses generously sponsored hundreds of certificates so Ha- wai‘i students could enroll and complete the program with no additional cost. With fund- ing from Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, the Service Excellence Certificate sponsorships have helped students from 21 schools state- wide become more prepared for the work- force since it first launched in January 2020.
“We encourage Hawai‘i businesses, or- ganizations and hospitality leaders to sup- port the next generation as they take their first steps in hospitality education,” states president and founder of ClimbHI Julie Morikawa.
Sponsorships are now available for next semester. Leeward O‘ahu schools are eligi- ble to submit sponsorship requests now by emailing info@climbhi.org.
