Street Festival Spotlights Arts District
Kumu Kahua Theatre took part in this year’s HEART of Honolulu Street Festival last month, opening its doors to public tours and also hosting improv games and handing out theater swag.
The family-friendly event was a celebration of Honolu- lu’s Chinatown Arts District. Nu‘uanu Avenue from King Street to Chaplain Lane was blocked off for the event, which showcased live mural paintings and lots of opportu- nities to shop from local cre- atives. More than two dozen local artists and art business- es in the area were represent- ed. There were also vendor booths, live music, demon- strations, crafts and more.
