The annual Goodwill Goes GLAM! Fashion Show is back as an in-person event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 18 at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall (777 Ward Ave.). This year’s show is produced by Native Hawaiian designer kumu Micah Kamohoali‘i, featuring upcycled Goodwill garments redesigned into the Hawaiian adaptation of formal American gowns. Attendees get exclusive access to the post-show GLAM! Sale. Proceeds go to Goodwill Hawai‘i. Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the door, available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Honolulu Korean Festival returns as a free in-person event this year, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Aug. 20 at the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds. The theme is “Celebrating Together – Once Again.” As in years past, attendees can expect lots of delicious food, live music, arts and crafts, and cultural activities. New this year is a K-pop dance contest, a jajangmyeon-eating contest and a spicy-chicken-ramen-eating contest. The festival is sponsored by Hawai‘i Korean Chamber of Commerce, Korean American Foundation-Hawai‘i and Hawai‘i Tourism Authority. Visit koreanfestivalhawaii.com for more information.
