Aloha surfers and beachgoers, Welcome to May! Looking back, April did not disappoint in the surf depart- ment — in fact, we surfed the best waves in a decade, all shores considered. Let’s hope May can match April, but to be frank, I doubt it will. Between all the insane April swells for both town and country and windward it’s a high bar. At least May is kicking off with a very promising south-southwest swell. See snnhawaii.com for details. It’s already feel- ing much closer to summer. Yeah!
OK, here’s some of what’s going on in the surf world here and abroad.
The World Championship Tour is in West Oz for the Margaret River Pro through today (May 4). As of this writing they were awaiting a pretty big south swell. They will likely be done by the time you’re reading this, so check out my website. This is stop five of 11 contests.
