ish-born rock’ n’ roll guitarist and teacher, Gertsson made use of his newly found time by hiking and meditating. The Kaimukī resident found a meditative music station on Pandora and added his own flair by improvising and playing together with the songs on his electric guitar. He ended up recording about 20 songs and posted them on social media.
“People liked it!” he says.
Encouraged by the feedback, he started writing his own music during the lockdown. He’s excited to release his first instru- mental single Give It Time from his solo EP Beyond Fear is Beauty. It’s an epic four-minute song that showcases Gerts- son’s skills on the electric guitar. Each note transfers seamlessly to the next into soaring harmonious melodies and there’s a distinct
