Cop On Top Comes To Mililani
Special Olympics Ha- wai‘i’s annual fundraiser, Cop on Top, returns Aug. 26-28 at participating loca- tions around O‘ahu including Walmart Mililani. Across the state, volunteer and off-du- ty law enforcement officers will literally rise to the oc- casion on 10-foot scaffolds and rooftops to raise funds and awareness for the non- profit. While officers take community service to a new level, volunteers will collect donations from shoppers and supporters on the ground.
Cop on Top has raised more than $3.8 million for Special Olympics Hawai‘i athletes statewide. Dona- tions collected from the event directly benefit the nonprofit and its work of- fering year-round sports, health, and wellness pro- grams for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
“This year, Cop on Top celebrates a milestone: two decades of supporting our Special Olympics Hawai‘i athletes,” states Dan Ep- stein, Special Olympics Hawai‘i’s president and CEO. “We invite the public

to come out and show their support for these dedicated officers who generously give of their free time to raise funds and awareness for our programs.”
“Special Olympics Ha- wai‘i holds a special place in the hearts of our volunteer officers,” states Honolulu Police Department’s assis- tant chief Ryan Nishibun. “Donating our time for Cop on Top is one small way that we can show our support and solidarity with these amazing and inspiring indi- viduals.”
