   Army Invites Comments On Poamoho

Located in the Ko‘olau Mountains in north-central O‘ahu, the Poamoho land has been leased from the state since 1964 for military train- ing and provides airspace with ravines and deep vege- tation for helicopter training.
These are also state-owned lands and the leases on them by the Army will expire in 2029.
The public may view and/ or listen to online video pre- sentations, review project documents and submit com- ments through the project website at home.army.mil/ hawaii/index.php/oahueis.
Oral comments may be provided by attending one of the two in-person public scoping meetings or remotely by calling 808-556-8277.
The Army intends to pre- pare an environmental impact statement, or EIS, to analyze its proposal to retain up to approximately 6,300 acres of leased state-owned land on O‘ahu to support continued military training.
Federal, state and local agencies, Native Hawaiian organizations and the public are invited to participate in the scoping process for the EIS by submitting oral and/or written comments.
Written comments will be accepted throughout the 40- day scoping period, and can be submitted by mail (O‘ahu ATLR EIS Comments, P.O. Box 3444, Honolulu, HI 96801-3444), email (usarmy. hawaii.nepa@mail.mil) or online at the project website.
Recording services are only available from 4 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10-11.

The 40-day public scoping period began July 23 and runs through Sept. 1.
The Army will host two identical in-person public scoping meetings from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10-11 at Leilehua Golf Course at 199 Leilehua Golf Course Road.
