Jack The Giant Slayer

Overall, what did you think? I thought it was a great movie! It was very kid-friendly and always kept me on my toes, with just the right amount of romance!

Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes? My favorite scene would have to be when Jack (Nicholas Hoult) and Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson) first meet – you could tell by the look on his face that it was love at first sight.

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film? In my book I would give it ★★★ 1/2. It had a lot of action, but I felt it was a little too long.

What did you think of the cinematography? It was amazing; the giants were very realistic and believable – almost as if they actually existed!

Was the message/theme clear? The theme was clear and captivating. Think Jack and the Bean Stalk, only bigger and better than your wildest childhood imagination. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

Did it remind you of any other work in film? This movie reminded me of the childhood fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk, especially because the main characters name is Jack.

To whom would you recommend this movie? I would recommend this film to everyone. It was a well-rounded movie with action, romance and just the right amount of comedy.

Did any of the actors stand out? I thought Jack was the standout in this movie; he was perfect for the role. He didn’t look like he would be capable of fighting off the giants, since the guards were there to do that, but it ended up that Jack had the most experience in adventure, which helped him a lot!

Did you identify with any of the characters? I could identify with Jack. He was always willing to help others, no matter the circumstances.

Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film? Yes, the music was perfect for the film. The loud music leading up to the action scenes really made you anticipate that something significant was going to happen.

Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD? I would definitely buy this movie on DVD. It is perfect for family get-togethers, or if you just want to have a movie night by yourself.

What’s your favorite movie snack? Popcorn! It’s perfect to snack on while keeping your eyes on the screen!

On a different note, what’s new with you? I will be crowning the next Miss T.E.E.N. Hawaii April 21. It will air on KHON May 4 at 9 p.m. I also am preparing for my international pageant coming up this June in Houston.
