Fun, Free Fitness Classes For Girls

In an effort to help young girls stay fit and active, Ivivva Honolulu offers free yoga and fitness classes every Sunday at 11:15 a.m.

“Our mission is to encourage girls to move and lead healthy lifestyles,” says Adriann Gin, showroom manager. “So, when we offer the complimentary classes, that helps support our mission and encourage girls to do that. Our guests tend to be girls age 4 to 14. That’s our target audience, as far as our product goes, so it’s aligned with them.”

Ivivva, which is a lululemon brand, makes athletic wear for young girls. There are sport-specific pieces, such as leotards and tennis skirts, as well as basic workout wear. All are designed to be functional and share the same high-quality features as lululemon products, including its Silverescent stink-free technology and Luon sweat-wicking fabric.

The complimentary classes run about 30 to 45 minutes, and are open to the public. Guests can simply show up.

“Sometimes we’ll do a dance class, sometimes a bootcamp or we’ve also done a CrossFit class,” notes Gin. “But the bulk of the classes have been yoga, and that’s because of the feedback we’ve received from our guests and on attendance, and yoga has been the most popular so far.

“Parents really like the idea of being able to bring their daughters here just to have fun and have fun while moving.”

Coming up are:

Jan. 25 Hip-Hop Class with Jared Ake from Boogie Productions

Feb. 1 Bootcamp with Ky Vuong

Feb. 8 Yoga class with Keiko on the Go
