Easter Fun At Salt Lake Shopping Center

ANNE NAMBA GOES EAST WITH PAULA WEST

Hawaii Theatre presents Anne Namba Goes East with Paula West, a fundraiser for Hawaii Theatre Center Saturday, April 11.

The fashion show will be staged in a 1920s nightclub setting with renowned jazz singer West taking guests on a musical tour from New York City to Shanghai to Honolulu. Namba will feature her Asian-influenced couture complemented by distinctive jewelry pieces from Anna Meng’s Collection, The Meng Dynasty — all in keeping with the theatre’s May 9 Charlie Chan-themed gala, Marquee Mystery: The House without a Key.

The outfits and jewelry will be available for purchase “hot off the runway” that evening. Namba also promises an assortment of fun headpieces and other accessories, and even some fashions for men.

Nationally acclaimed jazz artist West has captured the hearts of critics and audiences from coast to coast with her dusky soulfulness, and she has performed to sell-out houses annually at The Rraz Room in San Francisco and The Oak Room in New York City’s Algonquin Hotel. VIP tickets cost $75 (includes preshow reception and preferred seating); general admission tickets cost $35. All are available through the Theatre box office by calling 528-0506 or visiting hawaiitheatre.com.
