Waikele resident Laurie Nakagawa has been named home care services director for ALTRES Medical. “I’m thrilled to join ALTRES Medical and help establish this new service for local families in need of trusted care,” stated Nakagawa.

Prior to joining ALTRES Medical she was program supervisor at Central Oahu Senior Day Care Centers for six years, where she was responsible for dayto-day operations. Nakagawa currently is attending UH Manoa to complete a master’s degree in advanced studies in gerontology.

The USS Missouri Memorial Association has promoted Paul Dyson to chief operating officer. In his new position, Dyson is responsible for directing several departments tied to the enjoyment of the visitor experience at Battleship Missouri Memorial, including tours, communication, events, retail, education, sales and marketing, and ticketing and reservations. Dyson joined Battleship Missouri Memorial in 2006. He previously served as vice president of sales and marketing.

John Paulo G. Comiso has been promoted to the rank of chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy. Comiso currently is leading chief petty officer with Directorate For Branch Clinics at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Calif., and has served in the military for 11 years. He is the son of Maria Aurora G. and Ely Q. Comiso of Ewa Beach.

Elizabeth Agustin of Ewa Beach has been promoted to the newly created position of business development manager and travel agent sales with Outrigger Enterprises Group. In her new role, she is responsible for managing and enhancing the company’s travel agent incentive program and implementing strategies to enhance the company’s presence in the travel agent community.

Jennifer Cabasag of Pearl City has been named senior sales managers-multi-property group with Outrigger Enterprises Group. She is responsible for generating group business and will handle small to large group-related opportunities for Outrigger Resorts, OHANA Hotels and Resorts and Outrigger-managed properties.

Christine Kanemaru has been hired as director of nursing for The Plaza Assisted Living’s newest location, The Plaza at Pearl City, which opened in this month. In her new position, Kanemaru will provide supervision and guidance for the community’s nursing department and will assess and oversee care programs for each resident.

Robin Estrada of Aiea has been named director of sales and marketing for Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. She is responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing strategies across all market segments to increase brand recognition and meet revenue goals for their respective Outrigger beachfront properties.

Zachary Mantyla of Kapolei has been named to the President’s List at Berkeley College for the summer 2014 quarter. He is pursuing his degree through Berkeley College Online. Mantyla maintained a 4.0 GPA (or higher) while taking 12 academic credits.

Ewa Beach’s Rebecca L.M. Parker, president of Hawaii-based M. Dyer & Sons Inc., has been named a representative of the Core Member Management Board, Oceania by the International Association of Movers. She will represent the Pacific Rim (which includes Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, Australia and New Zealand), gathering industry information from movers, port agents, steamship lines and clients, and communicating issues to the association and government leaders.

Aiea’s Sgt. Janice Wong of the U.S. Army Reserves will join basketball fans from across the country this month at the prestigious EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, hosted by Chaminade University. Wong was chosen as this year’s representative of the Hawaii Wounded Warriors program to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Maui to attend the nation’s premier early season tournament and participate in special events, including attending team practices to meet participating head coaches and student-athletes.
