Last week over dinner at Sabrina’s, I reminisced and renewed a 40-years-plus friendship with Buddy Brundo and wife Susan, owners of Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood. Buddy was a big part of the production of local hits by Keola and Kapono Beamer, The Ali’is, Kalapana, The Krush, Loyal Garner, Cecilio and Kapono and Don Ho, to name a few. I was excited to hear them talk about their more recent clients -

With so many music talent shows crowding our TV channels, it’s refreshing to see Academic Hawaii, a program showcasing students in mathematics, science, history and literature from Hawaii’s private and public high schools.
