Two Panels To Address GMO Impact

Seeds of Truth presents two events next week to discuss the state of GMOs in Hawaii and the potential impacts. From 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Kapolei Middle School cafeteria, MIT researcher Dr. Stephanie Seneff, Kauai County Council member Gary Hooser, UH Manoa professor Dr. Hector Valenzuela and UH professor Dr. Noelani Goodyear-Kaopua will present “Pesticides, GMOs and Papaya – An Unnatural Disaster in Paradise.”

From 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 29 at Waianae District Park, the group hosts “Poisoning The Aina – Long-Term Consequences of Pesticides, GMOS and Bee Colony Collapse.”

It kicks off with a showing of the film, Vanishing of the Bees and will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Eric Enos of Kaala Farms, Dr. Hector Valenzuela, beekeeper Howard McGinnis and Dr. Melissa Yee of Seeds of Truth.
