WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas … The Player’s Edge!

RINGO STARR ON THE Las Vegas Strip … It could happen. Until then, Ringo and an all-star band featuring Steve Lukather (Toto), Richard Page (Mr. Mister), Gregg Rolie (Santana) and Kauai resident Todd Rundgren stop at the Palms in Vegas Nov. 22 and 23.

COMING DEC. 16 … PANDA! The first Chinese-produced show with a Las Vegas residency. The new show at the Venetian combines two Chinese treasures, pandas and kung fu, and promises high-flying acrobatics, kung fu mastery, music and dance that tell an unforgettable tale.

THE JAPANESE PARLIAMENT may consider a bill to allow casinos (now illegal in the country) in rural and urban areas … Experts estimate $15 billion in annual revenues, about two times the take of Las Vegas casinos. Las Vegas NV Sands is the front runner to open Japan’s first casinos.

STEVE WYNN PLACED the first bet, $200, on the pass line at Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino’s grand opening. It took the billionaire about 15 minutes to give back the casino the $5K it fronted. Road trip … The Grand’s grand, grand opening is set for Nov. 12.

ON NOV 29, Garth Brooks’ one-man Vegas show will broadcast live from Wynn Las Vegas.

IT’S OFFICIAL …

Delaware has become the first state to go live with real-money online gaming. The state’s three casinos offer a full suite of casino games, including slot machines, table games and poker. Players must be physically located in Delaware. If you’re thinking, “Kimo, what have you been drinking? … Nevada is the first state to allow gambling online,” you would be correct. The difference is folks who are located in the Silver State only can play poker for $$$ online. Later this month, Atlantic City casinos are expected to roll out online gaming for folks located in New Jersey. Why the rush? These early adopters hope to form pacts with other states to mine some outta-state online gold.

ON THE OTHER HAND … A national survey says that 67 percent of the 1,000 respondents (in all 50 states) were opposed to legalizing Internet gaming. The study, commissioned by Las Vegas Sands (Venetian/Palazzo), also found that 71 percent of those surveyed didn’t have issues with state lotteries to raise money.

TONY GEMINGNANI IS the first American to hold the title of World Champion Pizza Maker from the World Pizza Cup in Naples. This distinguished title makes him the best pie maker in the universe.

But don’t take their word for it – he’s opening a new pizzeria in Las Vegas. What makes his restaurant unique is it employs no fewer than seven different ovens powered by coal, wood, gas and electricity, so you can order a pie in the style that’s preferable to your taste buds in the ultra-hip, tragically cool Downtown Entertainment District.
