WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas … The Player’s Edge!

LAST WEEK’S rumor is this week’s fact … The Cosmopolitan rings in the new year with two shows by Bruno Mars. The Hawaii-born singer/songwriter said, “Me and the Hooligans are bringin’ live music to The Cosmopolitan’s Chelsea on New Year’s Eve. It’ll be our first time, but not our last,” hinting about the six additional gigs in ’14. The 50,000-square-foot concert hall features cast-glass chandeliers, brick walls, a grand staircase, high ceilings and a vintage wooden bar.

TICKET SALES for Britney Spears’ new Planet Hollywood residency are slow … Only three of her first 16 shows have sold out.

THE VENETIAN runs dry … That’s why it’s been so quiet (no singing gondoliers). For the first time since the casino opened in 1999, the canal’s 280,000 gallons of water have been drained for maintenance.

THE “CAKE BOSS” Buddy V opens his first restaurant in the Grand Canal Shoppes of the Venetian/Palazzo next week. On the menu: Italian-American classics, family faves and signature baked goods that put the “Cake Boss” in Buddy’s name.

LET THEM EAT cake … Las Vegas officials are saying a new taco shop no can put its name on one sign outside because in Spanish it’s slang for the “f-word” for fornication.

The family that owns the chain (four stores in Cali and one in Alabama) of restaurants say the “Pinches Taco” is named after their uncle, who made tacos for Doroteo Arango Arámbula aka Francisco Villa, whose nickname is Pancho Villa.

I’M TOO SEXY for my landlord … By definition, Sin City leads one to believe that anything goes. But even Las Vegas has its limits, say the managers of the Palazzo, who took the owners of “The Act” to court, saying its simulated deeds of the dark were too raunchy. The judge believed that the nightclub in the hotel violated the provisions of its lease and ordered it to edit 13 of the 30 skits performed.

THE BARBARY COAST/Bill’s Gamblin Hall is transforming into the Gansevoort Las Vegas next year. The $185 million transformation will include an eatery by Food Network chef Giada De Laurentiis. Executives are not concerned that consumers may have difficulty spelling the hotel’s name – there are only 188 rooms for rent.

IMAGINE IT’S exactly the same way you feel about losing a dollar bet … P-Diddy lost $1 million shooting craps with buddy Ric Ross at the Palms and posted a video saying, “I just lost a million dollars.

It ain’t nothing.”

ONLY IN VEGAS can you go pumpkin carving or zombie hunting with a laser-sighted Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun. Remember the only way to kill a zombie is to destroy its brain … Visit the largest indoor shooting facility in Nevada at TheRange702.com. It also offers free transportation.
