Overall, what did you think?

It was a good show. I expected it to be a little better based on the movies I have seen in the past with actress Melissa McCarthy.

Without giving away the ending, what was one of your favorite scenes?

One scene made me laugh and the next minute cry. It was beautifully done, it made light of a bad situation, added humor to it, but also acknowledged it as a hurtful moment.

I like that the writers and cast were able to bring the two emotions together so well.

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this film?

★★ 1/2.

What did you think of the cinematography?

It was good; nothing stood out as I can remember.

Was the message/theme clear?

The movie was half comedy and half drama. The basic theme was a young woman trying to find herself. She is surrounded by strong, loving women who help her along her journey, with many adventures in between.

It ended on a high note and was a feel-good movie.

Did it remind you of any other works or films?

A lot of the comedy scenes reminded me of why I love Melissa McCarthy so much. I wish there were more classic Melissa scenes in the movie.

There were spurts of comedy mixed with drama.

I loved the scene with Melissa McCarthy and her husband. They are hilarious together.

Who would you recommend this movie to?

Anyone who wants to see a light-hearted comedy with a feel-good ending.

Did any of the actors stand out?

Melissa McCarthy and Kathy Bates were great. I loved the interaction between the two.

I also liked the message Kathy Bates taught Tammy in the movie.

Did you identify with any of the characters?

Yes, I think many young women or older women looking back on their youth can identify with the character Tammy. Tammy is a very good-hearted woman who made a few bad choices, but always took personal responsibility for her actions. Once she found herself, her life improved.

It was a fun journey to watch. It also was nice to see the women around her who offered her wisdom and support.

Did the soundtrack contribute significantly to the film?

There were a few good songs, but not enough to buy the soundtrack if it were to come out.

Would you buy this movie when it comes out on DVD?

Yes.

What’s your favorite movie snack?

Popcorn.

On a different note, what’s new with you?

Still busy running Hawaii Pet Nanny (hawaiipetnanny.com), doing lots of volunteer work and spending time with my wonderful family.
