Senior Center Breaks Ground

Senior living center Plaza Assisted Living broke ground in Pearl City last month on its latest project, The Plaza at Pearl City.

The new facility will be Plaza’s fourth center on Oahu, with others located in Moanalua, Mililani and Punchbowl areas.

The Plaza at Pearl City will be a five-story, 99,000-square-foot assisted living community with 159 beds, offering different levels of care.

Amenities will include private bathrooms with walk-in showers and kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwave ovens. A nurse call-monitoring system also will be available at all times.

As needed, residents will be provided with help in bathing, dressing, using the bathroom and managing medications. Care for those with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other memory disorders also will be available.

The center is designed for seniors who do not need a nursing home, but are no longer able to live alone.
