Scholarship Applications Due March 15

National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL) is accepting applications for the John S. Martinez Leadership Scholarship. State Sens. Donovan Dela Cruz and Michelle Kidani, both of Hispanic descent, are encouraging students living in their districts to apply. Each recipient will be awarded a $3,000 scholarship upon graduating high school and admittance into a college or university.

“This scholarship gives students the resources necessary to achieve their academic goals,” said Dela Cruz in a release. “We encourage all junior and senior students who meet the requirements and are attending high school in our districts to submit an application.”

Applicants must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent, a U.S. legal resident, have a 3.0 or higher grade point average, be a junior or senior enrolled in a high school in Senate District 18 or 22, and be nominated by the school principal, teacher, guidance counselor or lawmaker.

For more information and/or to submit an application, students should visit nhcsl.org. The deadline for applications is March 15.
