With all the craziness of Halloween, one mustn’t forget about the cats – black or otherwise.

Aloha Cat Fanciers Club will sponsor its annual Halloween Cat Show from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Kilauea District Park. Though the show is in Kaimuki this year, the nonprofit club and its beloved pets have a strong Windward presence, led by Kailua’s Joan Harris, who raises Persian cats.

Some of the Windward members (pictured) gathered at Harris’ home recently to show off their felines’ best costumes as a kind of dress rehearsal for the show, which is open to registered breeds as well as household pets. (All healthy cats more than four months old are invited to participate.)

A panel of international judges will determine the most outstanding cats, and the public can vote on the Top Halloween Cat in Costume and the Best Decorated Cage on the theme. Pet products, unique cat toys, treats and supplies will be on sale at the show’s Cat Boutique, and a veterinarian will answer questions and concerns.

Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children and seniors. For more information, call 291-5856 or 261-4354.
