No word yet on whether actor Robert Pattinson, reportedly dating Sean Penn‘s daughter Dylan as of late, is still planning a trip to Hawaii now that the rumor mill has connected her with someone else … I’m sure his Twilight fans would love to see him strolling on the beach here…as a single guy …

Jake Shimabukuro‘s having busy year indeed. He’s performed more than 130 shows around the world so far … and will head home for his second annual Jake Shimabukuro and Friends Concert, which takes place next Saturday, Nov. 30, at Blaisdell Concert Hall …

Indie film Under the Blood Red Sun has been shooting on Oahu since earlier this month, with plans to wrap in January. The film is being produced by veteran filmmaker Dana Satler Hankins and directed by Tim Savage. It’s a live-action feature adaptation of Graham Salisbury‘s best-selling book of the same name. Salisbury, a former Hawaii resident, also wrote the screenplay. The cast is mostly comprised of local actors, with Academy Award winner (for his direction of the 1997 live-action short Visas and Virtues) Chris Tashima in the role of Papa Taro Nakaji

The Red Bull Music Academy Club Tour hits Hawaii this weekend, starting at downtown’s NextDoor on Saturday at 8 p.m. Up-and-coming Montreal trap and hip-hop artist Lunice, Chicago-based rapper Rockie Fresh and funk visionary B. Bravo will perform. Head to www.redbull.com for info and tickets …

This week in 1968: It’s The Turtles at HIC Arena before a crowd of about 5,000 fans. Their set includes their latest hit Elenore along with It Ain’t Me Babe, She’d Rather Be with Me, You Baby and Happy Together. Supporting acts are Canned Heat, whose new single is Going Up the Country, and Buffalo Springfield, who recently hit with On The Way Home.
