Recycle Old Phone Books At Mililani Town Center

Timing is everything. Just when Central Oahu residents are finding their new Hawaiian Telcom phone books at their front doors, here comes the announcement of how to recycle the old ones.

The Berry Company, a national online and print directory firm (and sales agent for the Hawaiian Telcom Yellow Pages), accepts phone books daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekend this month, Friday through Sunday, at a dedicated bin at Mililani Town Center (located next to Tesoro Gas Express).

In addition, Clear Channel morning show personalities will be on site from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday to give away prizes to customers participating in the annual “Think Yellow Go Green” campaign.

More than 170,000 directories were accepted in last year’s campaign. The directories were then delivered to waste management companies, which then shipped the tons of paper to the city’s H-Power plant to be converted into refuse-derived fuel for Oahu’s electricity needs.

Weekend bin drop-offs also are at Kahala Mall (by Macy’s Men’s Store), Windward Mall (parking lot by Haiku Road) and Ward Centers (mauka side of Pier I Imports).

For bulk pick-up service, call 833-2018 or visit thinkyellowgogreen.com.
