Ranch To Teach Horsemanship Classes

Seeing a need among its guests to sharpen their riding skills, Kualoa Ranch has launched a beginner horse-manship class for all ages.

The one-hour classes are held at limited times and have limited space. Topics include horse knowledge and care, brushing and feeding, and proper mounting. Each session ends with a short guided ride. Fee is $9 per adult and $6 per child (age 10 and older and at least 4 feet 6 inches tall).

“We have so many visitors who come to Kualoa and are interested in a hands-on experience with our horses, but they aren’t yet ready for a one- or two-hour guided trail ride,” explained ranch president John Morgan. “Our new horsemanship class offers the perfect opportunity to meet the horses and learn the basics of horse care.”

Now a growing visitor attraction, Kualoa Ranch also has been a working cattle ranch for 140 years. For more information, call 237-7321.
