Pearlridge Has Live Butterflies

Budding entomologists can look forward to seeing butterflies in their natural habitat … at the mall?

Pearlridge Center hosts a Butterfly Conservatory through April 19 at its Downtown center court.

Butterfly Conservatory allows the public to see the insects in their natural habitat at every life stage. In addition to the winged adults, expect caterpillars and chrysalides hanging around. There also will be an art station and a gift shop.

The exhibit runs Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $3; keiki under 8 get in free with an adult.

Teachers interested in field trips should visit adopt-abutterfly.com or call 248-979-7941 to make a reservation. Cost per student is $4, which includes a standard butterfly kit with two caterpillars for the class.
