Parading Around Waipahu Town

Waipahu celebrates the season Dec. 12-13 with a parade and carnival centered around Waipahu Town Center.

Leeward Lions Club will sponsor its annual Christmas Parade, which starts at 3 p.m. Dec. 13 at Waipahu District Park, moving to the town center with about 10 vehicles. Call 621-7216.

The town center, meanwhile, begins festivities Dec. 12 with keiki carnival rides, food booths and games from 4 to 8 p.m.

The carnival continues from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 13, and will also offer HPD’s keiki ID cards and games by Ho’omana from 1 to 8 p.m., entertainment by Kamaha’O from 3 to 4 p.m, pony rides and a petting zoo from 3 to 8 p.m., a Christmas Songfest from 4 to 7 p.m. and an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog from 6 to 7 p.m.

Songfest participants are August Ahrens Elementary music ensemble, St. Joseph Parish School, Halau’o Napuala’ikauiaka’iu, and Seafood City’s Christmas Carol Group.

Families also can receive free photos with Santa Claus from 4 to 7:30 p.m. inside Seafood City.
