Nazarenes Reopening Bay View Golf Park

Windward Nazarene Church and Academy plans a spring fest from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, complete with a dedication ceremony and grand reopening of Bay View Golf Park.

The free event at the golf park on Kaneohe Bay Drive includes an Easter egg hunt, entertainment by Kahiau and Ka Mele, games, crafts, food and free hot dogs for the first 400 people who complete a brief survey.

The Kaneohe church and school purchased Bay View Golf Park in December with plans to expand as well as provide public use of the property.

“Windward Church of the Nazarene has consciously decided to be an active part of this community as we seek to meet the community’s felt needs and to serve others,” noted lead pastor Jerry Appleby.

Previous operations on the property, including the mini golf and driving range, are continuing, and the 18-hole golf course is now under the management of Billy Casper Golf.

A new eatery, Bay View Grill and Catering, opened on the grounds in January. It is open daily, with breakfast served from 6 to 11 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and brunch served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. For catering information and availability, call 235-8787 or go to wind-wardnazarene.com.

The academy is currently located in the neighborhood across the street from the golf park at 45-232 Puaae Road. For more details on the event, call 235-8787.
