L&L’s Flores Has Scholarships For West Side

What do plate lunches and criminal justice have in common? Not much — just the Eddie and Elaine Flores Scholarship for Chaminade University students.

A longtime supporter of the Catholic college in Kaimuki, the president and CEO of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue/L&L Drive Inn established the $1,000 award in 2012. Eddie Flores also serves on the Chaminade Board of Governors.

The $1,000 scholarship is available for two students enrolled in nursing or criminal justice programs at Chaminade. Applicants should maintain a minimum 2.5 grade-point average and be classified as a full-time undergraduate, with preference to students who live in Waipahu or Leeward Coast areas, or those who graduated from Campbell, Kapolei, Pearl City, Waipahu, Nanakuli, Waianae, McKinley, Farrington, Radford or Moanalua high schools.
