Learn Bookkeeping, Tax Basics
A workshop and a seminar for small business people and micro-enterprises are scheduled for next month in the computer learning center at KEY Project (Kualoa-Heeia Ecumenical Youth Project).
Sponsored by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, the free sessions are as follows:
* Basic QuickBooks Workshop, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 12: Covering how to use QuickBooks to simplify bookkeeping and how to run financial reports from the program. Bring a QuickBooks program and laptop ready to download the software.
* Seminar: Small Business Tax Basics, 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16. Covering the choices of tax forms and filing dates, the difference between Sole Proprietor, Partnership, LLC and S-Corporation tax filings, addressing misnomers such as “home office, “car expense,” etc.
