Kunia Agriculture On View Oct. 26

Kunia’s agri-business progress will be on display in conjunction with a West Oahu pumpkin festival Oct. 26 via special off-site plant-to-product tours of area farms and processing centers, sponsored by the nonprofit Oahu Resource Conservation and Development Council.

The great pumpkin patch is open to visitors this final weekend at Aloun Farms in Kapolei, with plenty of Pumpkin Festival fun in the autumn mix, running from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Three Kunia tours are planned with departure by bus from the Kapolei site. Tours go to HARC Research Farm; Manulele Distillers and Kunia Country Farms; and Oils of Aloha and Pa’ina Irradiator. The three-hour tours leave at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Fee is $28 each (including the $2 festival admission). Each tour includes a “goody bag” of products and souvenirs. Reservations must be made by Oct. 25 to 622-9026 or visit https://plants2productseac2.eventbrite.com.
