Kendama Pros Visit Pearlridge

Top kendama professionals from the Mainland and Japan will show off their skills during the Yo-Dama! Festival Friday through Sunday at Pearl-ridge Center.

World-famous experts attending are Takeshi Kodama, Hiroki Iijima, Jake Weins, Turner Thorne, Colin Sander, Dave Mateo, TJ Kolesnik, Alex Smith, Haley Bishoff and Keith Matsumura.

In addition to demonstrations and autographs, the festival will allow amateurs the chance to improve their kendama skills with classes taught by the pros. All participants can put their skills to the test with various contests throughout the weekend.

During the festival, GOLKEN will unveil the new limited-edition model of its Mugen Musou kendama. One registered festival participant will be eligible to win this high-end toy.

Festival activities are located in Pearlridge Uptown between Macy’s and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Space is limited for the competition and classes, and participants must register in person at Razor Sports in Pearlridge Uptown, first level. Pre-event registration is recommended by March 20. Parent or guardian signatures are required for all participants under 18. Registration fee for the competition is $12 for those who register by Thursday, and $15 starting Friday, depending on availability. To register for the classes, the fee is $25 in advance or $30 at the event.
