Restoring Koa Forests
Through a partnership with Hawaiian Legacy Hardwoods, Hawaiian Electric Co. (HECO) is a sponsor of koa 'Legacy Trees,' which will help restore a koa forest on the slopes of Mauna Kea to its former glory. For every tree sponsored, a portion was designated by HECO to Malama Learning Center on Oahu to fund education programs at Makeke Kapolei and the farmers and green markets at Kapolei High School.
