Nameless Angels Swoop In To Help

Dear Pamela,

I wanted to thank Israel, who dropped off my husband’s bag after he accidentally left it on the bus. Mostly everything was there. Israel dropped off my husband’s bag at our house the following day. He wouldn’t tell me his last name. I just wanted to thank him from the bottom of our hearts.

Dear Pamela,

I would like to thank the person who found my driver’s license on Nuuanu by First Baptist Church. I didn’t realize it was missing until late that night.

Two days later, I received my license in the mail, and I was so relieved.

I really appreciated that my Anonymous Angel was kind enough to send back my license in a short time with a little note saying where they found my license. May lots of goodness come their way!

Dear Pamela,

I locked my keys in my car in the Windward YMCA parking lot. God bless “Rocky” of Waimanalo, whom I did not even know. He took me to Kailua to get my spare keys. Aloha and mahalo, Rocky!

Bob Young
Kailua

Aloha Pamela,

This is a long overdue thank you. One morning during the holidays we went to the Waipio Costco. After shopping, we inadvertently left a computer memory card in our basket.

A big mahalo to the kind person who saw the card and returned it to the store.

After searching our car thoroughly, we called the store and found to our relief that someone had turned in our purchase. We appreciate the person’s honesty and kindness.

Dear Betty, Bob, Laverne and K.,

Mark Twain defined kindness when he said it is “the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” National Kindness Day (yes, there is such a thing!) is in November, but your Anonymous Angels did not consult a calendar to extend a helping hand when they saw strangers in difficulty and need.

If you know someone who deserves some Applause, send your letters to Pamela Young, MidWeek Applause, KITV, 801 S. King St., Honolulu, HI, 96813, or email pyoung@kitv.com. Include your name, phone number and, if possible, the phone number of your “applaudee” so we can contact him or her.
