Thanks to Ko Olina Charities and employees from the JW Marriott Ihilani, Disney’s Aulani Resort, Marriott’s Ko Olina Beach Club, Ko Olina Beach Villas Resort, Ko Olina Golf Club, Ko Olina Marina and resort residents, 4,000 meals will be distributed throughout West Oahu communities this Saturday.

This is the 15th year for Ko Olina Charities’ Thanksgiving Outreach, and since 1999 the event has grown from serving 1,000 meals to becoming the holiday’s largest outreach on the island.

Ko Olina chefs will work with Leeward Community College culinary students to prepare the meals, and UPS drivers will make deliveries to 14 locations around the Leeward area.

The following organizations will distribute the meals: The Gathering Place of Hope, Holy Hill of Zion Thy Dwelling Place, Waianae Vet Center, Word of Life and Ark of Safety in Waianae; Paradise Chapel in Maili; City of Joy in Nanakuli; St. Jude Catholic Church and US Vets of Kalaeloa in Kapolei; West Loch Elderly Village and Calvary Chapel West Oahu in Ewa Beach; Lighthouse Outreach Christian Center and Waipahu United Church of Christ in Waipahu; and Pearl City Community Church in Pearl City.

In order to spur on this charity event, Ko Olina Charities welcomes monetary donations. Tax-deductible checks may be sent in care of Ko Olina Charities Thanksgiving Outreach, 92-1480 Aliinui Drive, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707.
