Friday July 4

Turtle Bay fireworks Turtle Bay Resort plans a free fireworks show for the public at 8:30 p.m., plus various activities, games, food and a paddle race as well as paid gigs on the property. Call 293-6000.

Saturday July 5

Classic cars East End Hot Rods of Hawaii stages a classic car cruise night from 5 to 9 p.m. at Aikahi Park Shopping Center. Call 735-8822.

Tahitian marathon Polynesian Cultural Center conducts a final Tahitian dance class marathon at 7:30 a.m. in its Tahiti Village. Fee is $10. Call 293-3333.

Kaneohe bon dance Kaneohe Higashi Hongwanji has its annual bon dance at 6:30 p.m. at 45-520 Keaahala Road. Food booths open at 5:30, with service at 6. Call 247-2661.

Kawainui help State wildlife biologist James Cogswell leads volunteers in a work day at Kawainui Restoration Ponds from 9 a.m. to noon today (and the first Saturday of each month).
