Kroc Center To Celebrate Art
The Salvation Army Kroc Center Hawaii will celebrate the arts from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday with “Art Night: Feel the Light,” which will display works created by Kroc Center art students, as well as art demonstrations, live music and more.
Kroc student artwork that will be on display includes drawing, paintings and printmaking. Students in the center’s urban arts class also will work alongside local artists to create a mural that they have designed specifically for Art Night.
“We started to do this event to generate more awareness of and excitement and appreciation for the arts,” explained Kroc Center arts and education manager Alyssa Hudson. “The event celebrates the hard work our students put into their pieces over the last session and allows their friends, families and our community to see and enjoy their artwork.”
In addition to the displays, attendees also will have the opportunity to create their own artwork through hands-on art projects that will be available throughout the evening.
“We hope our attendees enjoy a unique evening here at the Kroc Center, have fun with the art projects, be inspired by the art around them, and find that everyone can be artistic,” Hudson said.
“We want to celebrate our artists – both Kroc Center art students and other local artists – and provide them with a space to showcase their creativity,” she added.
