“Hopefully, in 10 years, I see myself playing pro soccer. It’s been my dream since I was a little kid. Being able to take it to the next level would be awesome.”

De Leon completed his second year with Kapolei in February, earning OIA Second Team All-Conference honors. He and the Slammers return to action at 4 p.m. Friday against the Riggers at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. He recently took some time to visit with MidWeek‘s West Oahu Islander.

What area of your game are you currently focusing on? Controlling the ball. And I’m trying to work on my passing and not rushing the play.

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned through soccer? No matter what, I can always get better than I am now. There’s always room for improvement.

What Internet site do you frequent the most? YouTube to look at videos, and I like Instagram.

What is your least favorite household chore? I hate to do the dishes. I never want to do them.

What movie could you watch over and over? The Transformers series. I’ve always loved those movies.

Who are three of your favorite musical artists? Eminem, Drake, Big Sean and Justin Bieber.

When you have free time, how do you like to spend it? I like to hang out with my friends and go to the mall and shop at Hollister.

You’re stuck on Kahoolawe and can have an endless supply of just one food. What would it be? Some kind of meat.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you most like to meet? LeBron James, He’s been my favorite basketball player since I was a kid.
