Kaimuki’s Parade At 6 On Dec. 5

The 67th Kaimuki Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, moving about 50 units (schools, scouts, merchants, bands, lawmakers, clowns, dogs, firefighters and many more) one mile down Waialae Avenue from Saint Louis/Chaminade to Koko Head Avenue.

The event also signals the lighting of the community Christmas tree atop Pu’u O Kaimuki (Menehune Hill), with lights and decorations from Kaimuki Business and Professional Association.

The two Diamond Head-bound lanes on the makai side of Waialae will be closed, and the two mauka lanes will be contra-flowed between 3rd Avenue and Koko Head Avenue during the one-hour march. Expect delays on Waialae and side streets for the duration.
