It’s Electric For The Schenk Family

Keeping it all in the family, Kaulana Schenk, electrician and owner of K. Schenk Electric (KSE), has more than 15 years of experience in the electrical industry and works alongside his brothers – all licensed journeyman electricians – to keep their father’s legacy alive.

“My wife Anela and I started our business in 2007,” Schenk says. “The idea came about when my dad Steven Schenk passed away in 2006. I was working for him since graduating from high school, and after his passing, I knew I had to start taking care of myself and my family, and open my own business.”

KSE is a Kailua business that offers quality electrical service by professional and knowledgeable electricians who specialize in everything from commercial and residential work to rewiring, upgrades, remodeling, troubleshooting and installing photovoltaic panels.

“We take pride in being on time, and installing clean and safe electrical work,” Schenk states. “We have a variety of clientele. We work with homeowners, property managers and real estate agencies, and also commercial entities such as salons and restaurants. I also have a lot of experience installing electrical for conventions at hotels or for trade shows.”

So whether it’s troubleshooting a light fixture or installing electrical for your brand new home, KSE can do it all. Schenk says every project is different, and it’s a top priority to discuss price and affordability with clients.

“We are not a large company trying to meet quota. I truly have the client’s best interest in mind – every project is important to us,” he adds.

Anela, meanwhile, does her part for the family business, managing the office.

Looking toward the future, Schenk and the rest of his team hope to work more closely with Mother Nature, installing more photovoltaic systems, car chargers and retro-fit lighting (LED bulbs).

“What pushes me to keep going,” he says, “is the thought of how proud my dad would be.”
